A New, Simple Way to Journal

✨ After falling off the journal wagon, this new short and simple way to journal has revived this ritual.

New York is officially in Summer mode ☀️.

Sure, it’s officially halfway through Summer now, but the city is now hitting the consistent 80s with high humidity. Equal parts sunny and cloudy with rain, it has been real easy to balance rest during the rain and activity in the sun for this reflector lady right here.

With clarity from June and the new Threads app, I’m feeling inspired by social again. I’m even being a little more lenient with my social check-ins as I save posts that inspire me.

With inspiration, things are starting to align again. I’m finding more and more delightful moments these past few weeks from slowing down.

Here are a few of those moments where things just lit me up, felt juicy or everything fell perfectly together:

☕️ Working remote from a new coffee shop that had the best vibes, good coffee, yummy lemon loaf, and lots of people watching

🚶🏻‍♀️Going for more walks including taking the bus to discover new parts of my neighborhood

📅 Embracing my Google Calendar with all it’s new updates including scheduling tasks directly inside my calendar, which helps me put down those “Oh shoot, I gotta remember to do this” reminders instead of putting them in my Notes app and potentially forgetting them

📓 Switching up how I journal to capture highlights (mood, cycle phase, insights, gratitude), instead of feeling pressure to write full pages

☔️ Slow walks in sprinkle rain after catching a movie

✨ Starting every Monday morning with a Weekly Vibe Check where I check-in on my Monthly Notion Template to ground into the goals I laid out for myself earlier this month

What are some of the delightful moments you’ve had lately?

Writing down these moments helped me feel immense gratitude knowing that I’m taking good care of myself, staying present, doing the exploring I’ve been craving and soaking up the sun my skin desperately needed 🙏.

If you can’t recall these small delightful moments where you felt juicy and aligned, I encourage to check out my new journaling ritual from moment number five above. Try a daily check in at the end of your day or first thing in the morning with the following:

1️⃣ Mood/Emotion Check-In: Descriptive words that describe your mood/emotions for the day

2️⃣ Cycle phase: So you can monitor any trends in the above

3️⃣ Insights: 3-5 bullet points of those juicy moments, things that felt triggering, wins and your mantra for the day

4️⃣ Gratitude: 3-5 bullet points describing what you are grateful for

This journaling ritual will 100% guarantee that you don’t lose those special moments, hacks or reminders of how far you’ve come in just a few weeks.
